Our group is a subcommittee of the Faculty Development Initiative, whose mission is to design and implement comprehensive professional development programs for faculty at all career stages, with special attention to those new to teaching.
As a subcommittee, we support this mission by providing faculty with opportunities and resources to develop the knowledge and skills needed to assess student learning.
Most recently, we developed a survey to distribute to our member institutions to better understand the types of student assessments taking place, the barriers we, as educators, face, and what we would like to learn more about. The subcommittee plans to use the survey results to better guide our efforts going forward.
